Description / Application
Stage Collars are applied for two-stage cementing of casings, ran in one section, to prevent cementing slurry loss, secure determined height of cement in casing annular and high-quality well cementing.
Stage Collars for intermediate and production casings are available in such sizes range:
5 1/2”, 5 3/4”, 6 5/8”, 9 5/8”.

Operation
Casing Shoe Track has to be assembled in accordance with technical requirements. Run casing of first stage cementing length, make up Stage Collar ПДЦ without Free-Fall and Upper Cementing Plugs. Torque up Stage Collar ПДЦ. Run casing to predetermined depth. Make cementing job in following operation sequence:
I stage
- Set up circulation and flush the well;
- Pump up predetermined volume of cement slurry;
- Launch Lower Cementing Plug (13);
- Pump up calculated displacement till bump;
- Bleed off casing pressure to check Float Valves tightness. At back flow absence, launch Free-Fall Plug (14) in casing, and in calculated time period (300 feet diving a minute plus 10-15 minutes) Free-Fall Plug (14) sits on Lower Landing Ring (7);
- At casing pressure build up 1160- 1450 PSI (8 - 10 MPa) more, than displacement pumping finish pressure, Lower Sleeve’s (3) Shear Pins (4) get sheared and fluid ports are opened. In case of need the operation has to be repeated 2-3 times. Flush excess slurry out of liner top.
II stage
- Circulate the well after finish waiting on cement time;
- Pump up the calculated cement slurry volume;
- Launch Upper Cementing Plug (15) with Tip (16) in casing;
- Pump displacement up to pressure build up (Tip (16) sits on Lower Landing Ring’s (6) socket);
- Build up pressure 1160- 1450 PSI (8- 10 MPa) more, than displacement pumping finish pressure to shear Upper Sleeve’s Shear Pins (10). Upper Sleeve (5) drops to utmost low position and its clutches sit on Lower Sleeve (3) top, sealing Body (2) Fluid Ports by seal rings. Check ports closing with pressure bleeding.
