This set of casing accessories is applied for section run and cementing of 9 5/8" intermediate casings in oil and gas wells.
Set of accessories includes:
- rotating liner hanger;
- casing tie back;
- cementing collar (optional).
Running and cementing procedure of the casing sections has two options:
Run of liner; cementing of liner; run of upper casing section; joining of the upper casing section with liner; pulling up of the upper casing section to calculated tension; flushing of the well; cementing job; closing of the cementing collar circulating ports. This sequence of operations is the most commonly used, for tie back of intermediate casings is mostly done in open hole.
Run of liner; cementing of liner; run of upper casing section; flushing of the well; cementing job; joining of the upper casing section with liner; pulling up of the upper casing section to calculated tension. This sequence of operations is the most commonly used in case of spotting of the tie back in cased hole. At this option cementing collar is not as a rule used.

Description/ApplicationRotating liner hanger is applied for running in a hole and cementing of the liner. It makes possible to use double cementing plug, which provides control of cementing and specified length of shoe tracks. Opening of circulation ports is fulfilled with right-hand rotation. Also there is a contingency option of circulating ports opening. Upon customer’s request liner hanger can be equipped with keys, which block premature unscrewing of the running tool. This feature allows reaming tight spots while running casing in complicate well conditions. The temperature range of liner hanger use is unlimited. Specifications
DesignRotating Liner Hanger (RLH) consists of Body (2) with left-hand thread. Down end of the Body (2) is connected to Crossover (10) with pipe thread. Hanger Mandrel (1) is equipped with Rim (4), Rings (5, 6), Cage (7), Lock Sleeve (3), Plug Seat (8) with Shear Pins (11) fixing Liner Wiper Plug (13), which has 1 9/16” ID bore. If necessary, unscrewing of Mandrel (1) from Crossover (10) over left-hand thread can be prevented with keys through Cage (7), that allows to run casing with reaming in extreme complicate conditions. OperationAfter casing liner has been run, flushing of the well and subsequent cement pumping is carried. After cement pumping finish, Universal Drill Pipe Wiper Plug (14), appropriated to all drill pipe sizes with bore ID from 2 7/16” (62 mm) up to 4 7/8” (124 mm), is launched from cementing head and displacement’s pumping starts. Drill Pipe Wiper Plug joins with hanged to device Liner Wiper Plug (13), when volume of pumped in displacement is equal to inner volume of drill pipes. With buildup of additional pressure up to 870-1160 PSI (6-8 MPa), Liner Wiper Plug`s Shear Pins (11), on which Liner Wiper Plug is hanged, are sheared. Jointed Drill Pipe Wiper Plug and Liner Wiper Plug are pumped down to baffle plate. Bump of Wiper Plug to baffle plate is indicated with pressure increase on cementing head’s manometer. After pipe pressure bleeding, 22000- 44000 lb (10-20 t) of the drill string weight is loaded on RLH and then to open circulation ports, drill string is rotated 6-8 turns clockwise with kelly or rotary slips. Thus, Mandrel (1) with its square section makes turn Lock Sleeve (3), which moves upwards through left-hand thread of the Body (2) and opens circulation ports. Having opened the ports, to keep liner straight, the load on the hook is set as initial common weight of running tool and liner. At this position excess slurry is flushed from top of the liner. At waiting on cement, cement spotting is made through drill string and RLH. After cement setting finish, to release running tool, 2200-4400 lb (1-2 t) of drill string weight is loaded down on RLH. At that square section of Mandrel (1) runs in square hole of Rim (4). Running tool is released from liner upon Rim’s (4) left-hand thread with 16 clockwise turns. If release fails, one should slack down 2200-4400 lb (1-2 t) of hook load and repeat procedure.

Description / ApplicationCasing Tie Back device ПС is used for hermetic coupling of the casing sections with subsequent tensioning of them before or after cementing. Tensioning is made before waiting on cement for compensation of casing’s temperature broadening and securing casing straightness. Device is versatile and provides tightness of coupling unit both in tension and in slack. Design of device allows releasing junction in case of accidental premature junction. Specifications.
Design.ПС-245 Tie Back device consists of Mandrel (1) equipped with Collet (2), that has left-hand thread identical to RLH Body thread, Packer (6), Shoe (7) and Float Valve (12). To prevent damage of packer element and seal rings as well as collet at run in hole, Body is protected with Cover (4), that has Shear Pins (10). Operation.At casing sections tagging, Cover (4) rests against RLH Body. At that shearing of Pins (10) results and Mandrel (1) of Tie Back enters in RLH Tie Back Receptacle. Collet (2) interlocks to left-hand thrust thread. With tension Collet (2) sets and Packer (6) squeezes, providing tightness of junction. If connection was at some reason failed, junction can be made with slack off.

Description / ApplicationCementing Collar MЦ-245 is used for cementing of the 9 5/8” casings second section at connected position. Specifications.
Design.Body (1) by Shear Pins (3) holds Sleeve (4) with Seal Rings (8). In lower part of the sleeve there are ports, which are coincided with ports of the Body. On the Body outside Stop Ring (7) is pressed on to shut Body ports. For Sleeve fixing in closed position, Spring Ring (5) is embedded in Body. To prevent Sleeve rotation while drilling out as well as well drilling Catches (6) are installed. At upper part Seat (2) is immediately set on Sleeve. Operation.After entire volume of cement slurry has been pumped in and cementing plug has been launched, displacement liquid is pumped until cementing plug reaches Seat (2). At 870-1160 PSI (6-8 MPa) pressure build up Shear Pins (3) are sheared. Then, Sleeve (4) moves downwards until its slots set on Catches (6). As result closing of the Body ports effects and Body tightness is reached.
