This set of casing accessories is applied for section run and cementing of 5 1/2"-6 5/8" production casings in oil and gas wells.
Set of accessories includes:
- rotating liner hanger;
- casing tie back device;
- cementing collar (optional);
- cementing device (optional).
Running and cementing procedure of the casing sections has two options:
СRun of liner; cementing of liner; run of upper casing section; flushing and cementing of the well, joining of the upper casing section with liner; pulling up of the upper casing section to calculated tension. This option of sectional run and cementing is the most commonly used, for joining of production casing sections are mostly carried out in cased hole. In this case cementing collar is not applied.
СRun of liner; cementing of liner; run of upper casing section with cementing collar; joining of the upper casing section with liner; pulling up of the upper casing section to calculated tension; flushing of the well; cementing job, shutting of cementing collar’s ports. This option of sectional run and cementing is used in case of spotting of the tie back in open hole as well in case of collapse or destruction of intermediate casing in interval of production casing’s upper section run or other factors, impeding to easy axial move of liner.

Description / ApplicationCasing Tie Back device ПС is used for hermetic coupling of the casing sections with subsequent tensioning of them before or after cementing. Tensioning is made before waiting on cement for compensation of casing’s temperature broadening and securing casing straightness. Device is versatile and provides tightness of coupling unit both in tension and in slack. Design of device allows junction to release in case of accidental premature junction. Specifications
At second casing section run rigid centralizer is installed immediately above ПС-140, 146 or 168 devices. In case of casing sections junction being made in open hole, spring centralizer is fixed immediately above Tie Back Device. DesignTie Back device ПС consists of Mandrel (1) equipped with Collet (2), that has left-hand thread identical to RLH Body thread, Packer (3), Shoe (5). All parts of device are mounted on Mandrel (1), are protected by Cover (8) with Shear Pins (7) to prevent damage of packer element and seal rings as well as collet at run in hole. See the chart below. Operation.At casing sections tagging, Cover (8) rests against RLH Body. At that, shearing of Pins (7) results and Mandrel (1) of Tie Back enters in RLH Tie Back Receptacle. Collet (2) interlocks to left-hand thrust thread. With tension Collet (2) sets and Packer (3) squeezes, providing tightness of junction. Description / ApplicationCementing Collar MЦ-140, 146, 168 is used for cementing of the 5 1/2”-6 5/8” casings second section at connected position. Specifications
DesignBody (2) by Shear Pins (3) holds Sleeve (4) with Seal Rings (8). In the lower part of the sleeve there are ports, which are coincided with ports of the Body (2). For Sleeve (4) fixing in closed position, Spring Ring (5) is embedded in Body. To prevent Sleeve rotation while drilling out as well as hole drilling, Catches (6) are installed. At the upper part Seat (1) is immediately set on Sleeve. Conical form of the Seat conforms to cone of Float Valve (9) plate. See the chart. OperationAfter entire volume of cement slurry has been pumped in, and cementing plug has been launched, displacement liquid is pumped until cementing plug reaches Seat (1). At 870-1160 PSI (6-8 MPa) pressure build up Shear Pins (3) are sheared. Then Sleeve (4) moves downwards until its slots set on Catches (6). As result closing of the Body ports effects and Body tightness is reached. Description / ApplicationDevice is applied for preventing of occasional direct and back-flow after bump, averts cementing slurry’s flow from annular to casing in case of float valves tightness loss. Such events occur quite often after well flushing with heavy drilling mud as well at cementing process. ПЦ device is installed in lower part of the liner immediately or in one pipe above Float Valve. DesignDevice consists of Body (1), in lower part of which, cast iron Cone (5) with ports for flushing and cementing is screwed in. In the upper part of the crossover taper cast iron Sleeve (3) is fixed with Shear Pins (4) and is sealed to Body (1) with Seal Rings (2). OperationAt the cementing finish moment of bump, with additional pressure 725 - 870 PSI (5 - 6 MPa) Shear Pins (4) are sheared. At that, due to force made by additional pressure, Sleeve (3) wedges on the Cone (5), which has taper 0°30'. Description/ApplicationMechanical Liner Hanger ПМ is applied for hanging of production liner at determined depth after its cementing in intermediate casing. Appliance of Hanger in casing assembly allows to secure liner’s straightness at waiting on cement period and detachment of running tool from liner immediately after cementing finish, that in return considerably shortens period of well casing. DesignMechanical Hanger ПМ consists of Body (1), on the upper part of which Cone (2) is screwed up. On the lower part of Body (1) Inner Sleeve (8) with groove for hanger activating is pressed on. On the Inner Sleeve (8) Outer Sleeve (4) is drawn on, to which by Bolts (9) through Rods (6) Dies (3) are attached. For centering of the Hanger and simultaneous its activating, to Outer Sleeve (4) with Bolts (10) Springs (5) are attached. In Outer Sleeve (4) there is embedded Screw (7), which is inserted in working groove of Inner Sleeve (8). See the chart. OperationAfter finish of cement slurry pumping and getting of bump, reciprocate liner and determine its weight together with running string. Pick up string 2` - 3` (0.5- 1 m) above the bottom, fix it in this position, turn clockwise, accounting liner top moved not less 90° to push Screw (7) to extreme left position in Inner Sleeve (8) groove. With let string down wedge Dies (3) on Cone (2) in previous casing. Check reliability of hanging with slack down 22 - 33 Klb (10 - 15 t) of running tool weight.
